The Chicken season runs from first harvest end of April, until last harvest mid-October.
Cuts are available a-la-carte at the farmers’ market, or in meat boxes.
Turkeys are harvested in October fresh for Thanksgiving and half are saved over frozen for Christmas. Turkey Cuts will be available through the winter.
Pork is harvested year-round, lamb and beef is harvested at the end of the spring flush of grass in June or July.
Try a meat box or subscribe for a monthly meat box to get these cuts delivered. Otherwise, you can purchase individual packages at the Nanaimo Wednesday, Beban Market or Saturday Qualicum market, both year-round.
